KRATKA BIOGRAFIJA
Predrag Cicovacki is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Philosophy at the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, Massachusetts, USA), where he taught from 1991 to 2023. During the 2012–13 academic year, he was a fellow of the U.S. and Indian governments on a teaching and research project in India.
In the fall of 2023, he was a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, United Kingdom).
Born in Belgrade in 1960, he grew up and completed his elementary and secondary education in Sombor. After earning his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Belgrade in 1984, he moved to the United States in 1986 for graduate studies. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Rochester (Rochester, New York, USA) in 1991.
He is the author of thirteen books, including The Meaning of Life, God, Man, and Tolstoy; and Dostoevsky and the Affirmation of Life.
He has also edited eleven books, including Tolstoy and Spirituality; The Human Soul; and Nonviolence as a Way of Life.
He translated into English (together with Heidi Grek) Laza Kostić’s philosophical study, The Basic Principle: A Critical Introduction to General Philosophy.
